Robert Cupp
Course, Palmetto Hall Plantation
Opened in 1993, the Robert Cupp
Course at Palmetto Hall redefines conventional golf
course architecture, thanks to a boldly original
concept from the designer. Named the 1992 Golf
Architect of the Year by Golf World, Cupp plotted
the course's original design on computer; thus the
finished product is characterized by straight lines,
sharp angles and unusual shapes. Still, the Cupp
course is extremely flexible with sound strategic
values. While its 141 slope rating from the tips
ranks it as one of the island's most demanding
championship tests, the course is eminently playable
from the forward tees. A truly unique experience,
the Cupp course is, from a player's standpoint,
refreshingly new and great fun to play for all skill
levels.
